Description
The Vegvisir symbol is very old and sacred. Viking and Norse sailors used this symbol as it was believed to show the way back home and protect them from storms. This is why it is also said to be a viking compass. It is also an spiritual compass that shows you the right path to choose or it will lead you back to yourself when you have lost yourself and your faith. So Vegvisir has very good thoughts for it's wearer, it will lead you to what is good for you and protects you when there is need for protection.
Originally the symbol comes from Iceland. Famous singer Björk has tattood the symbol on her arm.
The diameter of the coin is 1.3 inches / 33mm
The coin is hand-hammered, every piece is unique and a little bit different from others. This makes the handcrafted items so original that there is no one else who has exactly the same thing.

Adjustable string
Some of our items come with an adjustable string, which allows you to easily change the length using clever sliding loops. If the pendant photo shows a string, the item will arrive with an adjustable string; if not, it comes with a durable chain.
The adjustable string is made from a sturdy, long-lasting material that holds up for years of wear. It's especially convenient for finding the perfect fit—whether you like it tight or loose, it adapts easily to your style.
Materials and Safety
At Baldur Jewelry, we believe that what you wear should be crafted with intention — not only for its beauty, but for its integrity. Every piece we create carries that spirit.
- We work with 925 Sterling Silver, known for its purity, strength, and timeless character.
- Our brass is jewelry-grade, sourced from Italy, where it’s made under strict European standards — free from heavy metals like cadmium or lead.
- We use 316L stainless steel, nickel-free and safe for sensitive skin.
We are committed to an environmentally mindful process. In our lost wax casting, we don't burn the wax like most do - even though it’s faster. Instead, we steam it out and reuse it, honoring both the material and the earth. This slower, more deliberate method reflects who we are as artisans.
We craft with care - for you, for the piece, and for the world it’s made in.
